Scosche boomBOTTLE Review

I love music. My wife loves music. My kids will honestly stop and dance to anything with a beat. Our home has speakers in every room – including the bathroom. To say that we’re passionate about the soundtracks to our lives would be an understatement. When we venture outdoors, it’s an obvious transition that the music will be coming along with us.

We’ve had the luxury of testing out many outdoor wireless speakers. Some sound amazing, and others just alright. Regardless of the sound quality, there’s usually a form factor issue that doesn’t always make it convenient to take your music where we want it to go. Many are the right size, but the wrong shape. Enter the Scosche boomBOTTLE.

Appearance: The boomBOTTLE is designed to fit inside of a bicycle water cage, meaning that there’s no need to figure out a bungee cord situation to secure a speaker to your bike. We’ve actually had the experience – attempting to tie a speaker to a bike or a stroller. The results were mixed, leaving much room for improvement.

Durability The boomBOTTLE delivers fantastic sound via it’s dual 40mm drivers and passive subwoofer. When we first received the speakers here at the office, and fired them up – each and every person popped out of their office to see what was producing the sound. Everyone was in agreement – this little speaker can kick! Did we mention that it’s waterproof?

Ease Of Use: I’ve had mixed experiences with Bluetooth over the years. Is it on? Is it paired? The Scosche is remarkably easy. A press of the power button is confirmed with an audible “The Power Is On” – and pairing comes with a similar confirmation. Easy. My experience, is that once paired – I haven’t had to re-pair my devices, and the boomBOTTLE remembers their settings automatically, making it easy to pick up and go. If Bluetooth isn’t your cup of tea, the boomBOTTLE does offer 3.5mm aux plug in…

Inside the bottle itself lives a rechargeable lithium polymer battery that provides up to 10 hours of continuous music playback. When it’s hit the limit, simply plug in the micro USB cable – and you’re back in business.

Value: I’m loving this speaker. Great sound, and non-directional. You can place the speaker on a table, and you’ve got 360º sound. Great form, and a good price for this setup. For $129.99 the Scosche boomBOTTLE is well worth the price for a waterproof speaker that really jams.
