A leader in ski performance and innovation, Peak Ski Company is raising the bar for amateur skiers and enthusiasts alike. Created by Bode Miller, Olympic and winningest male Alpine skier in US history, and Andy Wirth, a ski industry executive, Peak is constantly exploring ways to improve the ski experience for everyone. Miller and Wirth understand the nuances that come with skiing and what makes for a good run. Their goal: “Look at skis fresh every time and just start testing ideas.”

When you think of Peak, you should immediately think of quality. Whether you’re hitting the backcountry or are a casual groomer, you’ll find that Peak strives to make sure it provides the best performing skis in the business. Ask anyone working at Peak and they’ll tell you, “Precision matters because you matter.” No design decision is made on a whim, and products are tested throughout the entire crafting process. From prototypes to the final product, Peak makes sure its skis offer the best performance possible.

Miller and Wirth are not in this alone, as they’re joined by some industry heavy hitters including JT Holmes, Chris Davenport and Michelle Parker. Holmes very recently joined the team as Senior Director of Business Development & Innovation.

What’s next for Peak Skis? Today, in partnership with strategic partner Pebblebee, the brand unveiled the PEAK Lôc8, a location-tracking technology that will be included in certain models in the 2023/24 ski line. “After years of work on the concept and the development criteria, we are thrilled to unveil PEAK Lôc8 to our community of customers and the world of skiing,” Wirth said in a company press release.

A lot of skiers don’t ski with a phone (or it won’t work in the backcountry anyway) and even find GPS watches cumbersome. This technology makes the ability to track a lost skier simple and completely unobtrusive—yet it provides a vital service should something go awry. Plus, the device should only need to be charged wirelessly once a season using a standard Qi charger to offer peace of mind.

“While tracking and locating devices are not uncommon, the first iteration of Peak Lôc8 is extremely unique in that it is compatible with both iOS and Android platforms,” said Darrin Haugen, Peak Ski Company Vice President of Design, Innovation and Production. “It’s also packed with other features and compatibility, including individually controlled LEDs, NFC for claiming, “left behind” alerts and virtual fence notifications.”

If you don’t have a pair of Peak Skis, you should consider taking them to the mountain for your next ski trip. You might not win an Olympic medal, but you’ll be wearing a pair of skis that have been engineered to make your skiing experience nothing but the best.
