The Lake Chicot State Park Cabins are among the nicer cabins you’ll find in a state park. There are 14 cabins situated next to the lake. Half of them are on the water with their docks. The cabins were well maintained and spotless. The decor was well chosen and had a nice outdoor vibe that we liked. We were there in June, so it was sweltering, and Lake Chicot doesn’t mess around when it comes to air conditioning. All of the cabins have central air that kicks out cold air, giving you a beautiful oasis from the sweltering sun. The dining table seats six and is spacious enough for a large meal. The couch and tv area was comfortable, and they had cable to boot.

The first things we check when we stay in a cabin are the utensils and cookware in the kitchen. Often they’re billed as “stocked,” and you find that there is barely enough there to prepare a meal for two. Not the case at the Lake Chicot State Park Cabins. We had plenty of silverware, pots, and plates to cook every meal we had on the menu.

The cabins are close together, but they’re well made, and we had no issues with sound from neighbors. We thought $100 a night was reasonable, especially since you could sleep two on the pull-out couch to get six. If you plan on visiting Lake Chicot State Park in the summer heat the cabins are your best bet for a pleasurable stay.
