Frozen Sweet Treats

The kids are non-stop complaining about how the summer heat is going to melt them into a puddle and end the world if you don’t do something quick. To put an end to the whining and get the kids back to enjoying the great outdoors, try these awesome, easy to make Froyo Bites. They make for a great snack in the car on the way to the campsite or even at the campsite if your store them in a heavily chilled cooler. This is a great snack to cool off your kiddos, and they’re healthy too!

Feel free to experiment and dip the Froyo Bites in any of your favorite toppings.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup of your favorite berries
  • For pink, blend together in a food processor or blender:
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • For purple, blend together in a food processor or blender:
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup blackberries or blueberries

Instructions
  1. Using a piping bag or spoon, scoop yogurt into a mold or ice cube tray.
  2. Freeze for 2 hours or until ready to eat. Makes 10-12 ‘cubes’ of each flavor.

 

It’s scorching hot out and you’ve already cooled the kids down with Froyo Bites and a trip to the beach. It sure would be nice if you had a tasty adult treat to help fight the heat. Ingredients
  • 2 yellow peaches, sliced
  • 8 medium strawberries, hulled & sliced
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1 oz. vodka
  • 1 oz. Cointreau

Instructions
  1. In a blender, blend orange juice, peaches, 4 strawberries, vodka & Cointreau until well blended. Skim the froth off with a spoon and discard.
  2. Fill the ice pop molds with the mixture about ¾ full and place remaining 4 strawberries within each mold.
  3. Freeze for 12 hours before serving.
