Eggnog: The Alcohol Protein Shake

Author:

Ingredients
  • 12 eggs (yolks only)
  • 1 qt. half and half
  • 1 lb. of sugar
  • 2 cups of good rum
  • 2 cups of good bourbon
  • 2 tsp. of grated nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp. of salt

Instructions
  1. Separate the egg whites and save them for a protein packed omelet in the morning. Beat the 12 yolks until they reach medium consistency.
  2. Mix everything else together and slowly whisk the eggs in.
  3. Now comes the hard part – aging it. Eggnog gets more and more delicious the longer it sits. If you can, let it mature in the fridge for a week or two. True eggnog connoisseurs would age it for a full year, but we both know you’re not waiting that long. After two weeks it will basically be a magical protein shake, and your guests will realize that they actually love eggnog.
  4. eggnog
