The PowerPot Charges Your Phone On Any Heat Source

The PowerPot is a great product from Power Practical, a company born not too long ago from a KickStarter campaign. The PowerPot is a camping pot that charges your portable electronics. Fill it with water and put it over a heat source and in 30 seconds you are charging.

The element on the bottom of the pot adds very little weight to the pot, much less than additional batteries. It can be placed safely on most any heat source as the cord is heat resistant. In the demo you see it charging on a small backpacking stove, but you can just as easily put it on your charcoal grill while boiling water for a meal and then fill it back up with water when you’re done and keep charging. Or just put over the campfire while you’re hanging around the campsite. As long as you’ve got water to put in the pot and heat you can keep charging.

From the manufacturer’s website:

“The PowerPot is a thermoelectric generator, so it converts any heat source directly into power that charges your USB handheld device. Add water to the PowerPot and place it over a heat source. Plug in your device (don’t worry, the cord is flame-resistant!) and it’ll charge just as fast as it does from a standard outlet. Heat the pot over a stove, campfire, wood stove, propane/butane heat source, home range, or even a hot spring! Perfect for backpackers, hunters, and zombie apocalypse preppers.”
