The Tree In House is one of those things you’d think of when you’re 8 years old playing in the woods with your friends.
“I got it! What if we put a huge glass tube around the whole tree and lived inside of it!?” That’s exactly what architect Aibek Almasov did, creating a four-story structure that totally encases a 40 foot tall fir tree. Almasov stated, “The project aims to offer an alternative to bustling city life and stifling urban structures by fusing a protective house and a natural environment without creating a visual separation.” With plans to use geothermal heat, and a solar coating on the glass for heat and power, we’re thinking this would be the perfect place for a 50 Campfires retreat. Who wants to come with?
